LIVE THE UNIQUE MASTIHA CULTIVATION EXPERIENCE
Live the experience as a local mastiha producer. Start early on the route to the mastiha field, use the right equipment, and cultivate the mastiha trees. Kneel under the ''Skinos'' trees, smell, taste, touch the white treasure, and follow the instructions of the experienced mastiha grower to carry out the right cultivation. Learn everything about mastiha and try products made from it on your coffee break. Pyrgi IS ONE OF THE BEST-PRESERVED “MASTICHOHORI” (MASTIHA VILLAGES) OF CHIOS. It is a medieval village, known as the "painted village" on account of the decoration of the houses. This mostly consists of black and white decorative motifs in different shapes. Pyrgi is one of the biggest villages in Chios, located in the south part of the island, 25 km south of the center. It is the traditional seat of the Mastic Villages, a group of villages where the residents engage in mastic agriculture. These villages have been added in the representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. Walking through the narrow alleys of the village of Pyrgi you will “travel back” to a different era as the atmosphere of this village inhabited by such hospitable people, is engaging.

A small, traditional fishing village that adds even more charm to the location as you taste the delicious seafood delicacies. A landscape of rare, mysterious beauty that was formed due to the eruption of the now inactive volcano Psaronas, an event that archaeologists are unable to determine accurately in time.
